Artist Statement

 

V. The Vision is the transmutation of dark energy from a depressive episode.​​ At a time when I couldn’t find the words, I worked with my hands instead: I cut, painted, pasted and stitched. I wrote them poem. This practice was my light in the dark, getting me from the bed to the table on days when all else sunk into oblivion.

 

In its entirety, this visual poem reads like a cross between a children’s book and an epic poem. Many of the photos you see I’ve taken on disposables and my Pentax ME, others are sourced from books and magazines found on the street.
