Find Your Voice
with Performance for Poets

Your poem doesn’t end
when the page is printed.
It begins again in your body, on the stage,
and in the stillness before a word is spoken.
What to Expect
Across eight sessions, we'll alternate between:
☆ technical text and performance development with Katya Borkov, and
☆ space for somatic and emotional integration* held by Kathryn Rose Rieber.

Through these lenses,
we'll explore:

1
Text and Memorization
Hold your text in memory, and improvise with confidence when performance throws you curveballs
2
Voice and Delivery
Define your work's cadence, tone, pacing, breath and enunciation in a manner true to your unique voice
3
Embodied Movement
Refine your muscle memory through gaze, posture, gesture, and stillness, increasing your understanding and awareness of the nervous system while performing
4
Production and Expansion
Develop a personal performance language by experimenting with video work, props and/or score, and regulation rituals to frame your time onstage
